Simple Websites

Looking for a website for your small business?

Check out our

Simple Websites.

A quality website delivered fast

(like, tomorrow-fast).

Our Simple Website package can be delivered in two different ways — as a One Day Website or over the course of one month. Both modes follow the same simple process and result in a captivating new website, the only difference is the timeframe.

We found that many small business websites were taking an unnecessarily long time to build. We’re talking months — even years — for a simple five-page website to be built because it was constantly put on the back-burner by small business owners. This happened for a variety reason such as staff changes on their end, sickness or holidays, and most commonly (and understandably) they were busy running a business!

The One Day Website format (optional if you prefer a more traditional process) is designed to take the hassle and unnecessary delays out of your website build. It gives you and us a dedicated day to focus on your businesses new website. Together, we build it in under eight hours.

Let's talk about it

We’ve been building simple websites since 2014, and specifically One Day Websites since 2016. Over that time, we’ve become increasingly efficient, becoming more adept than the previous day. This, crossed with ongoing advancements in technology, means we can build incredible websites in an exceedingly short amount of time, without compromising quality.

Many hands make light work, and this is very much our approach with One Day Websites. We're not a one-man-band, which means you get your website faster, along with a team of specialists. Your dedicated Designer, Copywriter, and Project Manager are experts in their fields, each bringing their unique talent and insights to your website build.

We build websites, fast. So fast, that you can actually have an entire website built for you in just one day. In fact, in less than eight hours — that's obviously one of the main advantages of working with Helium and engaging our Simple Website package as a One Day Website.

We have a a few spots available each month, and can usually book you in within one week. However, if you prefer a more traditional approach, we can take our One Day Website approach and spread this over a longer time period.

We're pleased to be one of the most affordable marketing agency website builders you'll find. The pricing on this page shows not only our approach to transparency, but confidence in the value we will deliver.

So, what is that "value"? Your website is your most important marketing asset, as all other marketing efforts drive traffic back to it. Without a high quality website, you might be sending potential customers to a dead end. A high converting website is worth it’s weight in gold. Just consider how many lost customers would cover the cost of your new site...

We work predominantly with Perth-based businesses who join us for a One Day Website  in-person. However, we've completed Simple Website packages with business owners in rural WA, interstate, and internationally. Likewise, if you are in Perth but prefer to work from your own office, that's absolutely fine. As long as you're contactable throughout the project, we can work with you, wherever you are.

If you're going remote, virtual meetings and a live link of your website will be provided so you can track build progress, ask questions, and provide feedback throughout the day.

Abbily One Day Website Example
  • Who will build my new website?

You'll have a dedicated team working for you on the day. This includes a professional Designer, Copywriter, and Account Manager — the dream team. Sometimes we throw a Developer in there too, if your website build is a little more complex.

The Account Coordinater will be your primary point of in the lead up to the build and throughout it. They manage the rest of the team, talk broader marketing strategies with you (if you like), answer any questions you have, and generally support you throughout the project wherever you need.

The Copywriter creates all the written content for your site. Sometimes, business owners provide a rough draft for us to work with, other times, our Copywriter creates it all from scratch. Either way, they'll ensure your content is catchy, engaging, and enjoyable to read — and encourages people to get in touch with you.

The Designer makes your website look fresh and engaging, and ensures it reflect your brand. It'll be simple to use and edit, and website visitors will easily be able to navigate the site to find what they need. They'll make your website pop with cool animations, eye-catching fonts, crisp imagery, and slick colour combos — always utilising modern design trends and best practices.

The Developer helps with any technical stuff that falls outside the expertise of our other three pros. Often, we don't actually call on our Developer, but we'd like to let you know that we can if we need to.

To see who exactly could be working on your website project, check out our People Page.

  • What happens in the lead up to the build?

Get started by signing up online. You'll be asked to pay a 50% deposit, which secures your booking. After that, you'll be linked to a simple online briefing form where you can tell us all about your business.

When your briefing form comes thorugh, we'll match you with one of our Account Managers who will personally oversee and coordinate your website project. The match is based on the personal interests and past experience of the Account Manager, as well as the industry of your business. Pretty cool! They'll reach out to you to introduce themselves, confirm the booking, and ask any additional questions about your business. You can ask them questions, too.

  • If I choose a One Day Website, what happens on the day?

We'll start with a 9:00am briefing meeting. Usually, this happens in our boardroom, but if you're doing your One Day Website remote, it'll be a video call. This meeting is a chance for us to get to know one another. We'll go over that initial briefing form you sent through in more detail and ask any additional questions. You can share your hopes for the website, broading business goals, and ask us anything, too.

Then, your Copywriter and Designer will get started on an awesome Home Page concept for you. We'll check in, get feedback, and make adjustment as needed until you're obsessed with it. Once the Home Page is approved, this really sets the tone for the rest of the site, and it all comes together pretty quickly. Throughout the day, we'll continue checking in for feedback — you can make as many changes as you like on the day as guide the design and written content as you see fit.

Once all five pages are complete, our Designer sits down with you for a one-on-one training session where they'll show you how to edit and update your website. Don't worry — it's super easy!

That's basically it. When you're ready, we'll make the website live and you're good to go. You can make your website live on the same day, or give us the nod when you're ready down the track if you have a few other business bits and pieces to sort out before the launch.

  • What if my One Day Website doesn’t get finished on time?

It's very unlikely that your website won't be finished by 5:00pm. In fact, most of our websites wrap up even earlier than that!

However, it does happen (very rarely). This comes down to the level of complexity of the site, and if there were many unexpected, significant changes throughout the day. We're talking complete redesigns, massive writing edits, or other big changes late in the day. Delays also happen if we're missing key information from you (e.g. staff bios or crucial details about your services).

The good news is, if your build flows onto the next day, more often than not, there is no additional charge (we'll let you know if this isn't the case). As we said at the start, this is extremely uncommon. Out of our hundreds of One Day Website builds, this had only happened a handful of times. And when it did happen, it was usually completed by midday the next day.

  • What if I don't want my Simple Website package as a One Day Website?

If you're not in a rush, our Simple Website package can be rolled out over a longer period — say, a week or a month instead of a day (but no more than three months). Note that this is not the same as your One Day Website not being finished in a single day (as covered in the previous point).

The process remains exactly the same, just spread out over a longer period. We just need a concrete deadline from you so we know what end date to work towards.

Website terminology.

  • One page

When talking about the size of a website, we refer to it by the number of "pages" it contains. Your One Day Website includes five pages. As an example, these might be:

    1. Home
    2. About
    3. Services
    4. Blog
    5. Contact

The exact pages you want are up to you. If you'd like some help, we can advise you on the pages we think would be best.

  • Sitemap

Following on from the last point, a collection of pages is called a "sitemap". Using the same example, your complete sitemap for your website might be:

    1. Home
    2. About
    3. Services
    4. Blog
    5. Contact

It goes without saying that your sitemap is totally up to you. Structuring your website and sitemap actually falls into the expertise of our Copywriter, so we can definitely assist here if needed.

  • Content Management System

A "Content Management System" — also known as CMS — its the software used to build and edit the website. For example, all our One Day Websites are built in Duda. However, larger website can also be built by us in WordPress. Both are built without code, which means it's easy for you to use and edit after the build is complete.

  • Duda

Duda is the Content Management System (CMS) we build One Day Websites in. We have purposely chosen this CMS as it's exceptionally easy to use, edit, and looks great. We love it so much that our own Helium website — the website you're on right now — is built in Duda!

Duda is a code-free CMS, which means you'll never need to hire technical experts or Developers to help you. You can have full control of the website once the build is complete and won't need to rely on us for future updates. Of course, we're always available to help you if you need us!

  • SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. It's the process of getting your website picked up by search engines, like Google, with the goal of appearing on the first page of search engine results. SEO is an extremely time intensive (but worth it) marketing strategy that takes months of work before you start seeing results.

However, we implement basic SEO during your One Day Website build to help you get a head start. We can also provide on-going SEO to help you stand out on Google, if that's something that's a priority for you.

FAQs.

  • What's included in my Simple Website?

So much! You get a team of three professionals — a Designer, Copywriter, and Account Manager (sometimes a Developer, too) dedicated to your website build. Of you choose a One Day Website, your assigned team doesn't work on any other projects during this time; their focus is on building you a cool new website in eight hours or less.

You get up to five website pages, all of which are SEO-ready, beautifully designed, and written to be highly engaging. These pages are your choice — choose any combination of Home, About, Blog, Services, Team, Contact, News, Price Lists, Testimonials, Events, an Online Store, FAQ page, and more.

You'll enjoy a finished website that's exceedingly easy to edit. With a one-on-one training session with our Designer at the end of the day, you'll be ready to update and edit the site long after we're finished with it. With no lock-in contracts, you're free to access and edit your site without us, as much as you like. But, we're always here if you need us.

Finally, we can also help you with the complex stuff, like domains and hosting, if you want us to.

To recap, here's what you get:

    • Three (maybe four) website-building pros.
    • Five website pages of your choice.
    • Basic SEO.
    • Captivating graphics and layouts, your brand colours and logo incorporated, moving elements, all backed by best design practices.
    • If you don't have a logo (e.g. you're a brand-spanking new business), a basic text logo will be included at no extra charge.
    • Unlimited access to an image library with over 400 million professional stock photos.
    • Catchy headlines and highly engaging written content that informs, educates, and encourages people to take action, without the dreaded "sales push".
    • Sorting out all that hosting and domain stuff, if needed.
  • What software is the Simple Website package built in?

We can build Simple Websites in Duda or Wordpress. However, we only build One Day Websites in Duda.

Of course, we're always available to help you if you need us.

If you choose a Simple Website package over a longer period, we can build it in WordPress (but we usually don't recommend it unless it's absolutely necessary).

  • Can I edit the website after you build it?

Absolutely. As we mentioned before, this is one of the main reasons we build websites in Duda. Duda it very easy to edit, even if you have absolutely no website experience. If you an use Microsoft Word, Duda won't be a problem for you!

Your Simple Website also include a one-on-one training session. Here,  our Designer will sit down with you — usually at the end of the day — and go over eveyrthing you need to know (which honestly, isn't much) on how to edit, update, and maintain your website.

  • What’s the average cost for a small business website?

There’s a wide range of cost points for small business websites. From this website pricing guide and this website cost article, you can see that small business website costs range from $5k to $10k, and $1k to $10k (respectively).

The size of the website and whether you hire a professional (or a team of professionals) are two main factors involved. For example, a website is often cheaper when you hire a one-man-band, but the chances of them being exeptional in all the required areas — copy, design, development, and project management — is extremely unlikely. Athough you're paying less, you might end up with a sub-par website that shines in one area, but is lacking in others. That's one of the main reasons people love engaging Helium for a Simple Website — you're paying for a whole team!

  • Why does a small business need a website?

There are heaps of reasons why small business owners should have a website. The main one is, your website is a central landing point for all potential customers.

Not everyone is ready to call straight away, so this gives customers the opportunity to do a discreet credibility check while they’re considering whether to get in touch. It's also a place where you can share your amazing services, team expertise, benefits, and points of difference.

Your website also houses all your contact information, as well as blogs (if you need them).

  • What website maintenance will I need to do?

None, we do it for you!

  • What do I need to do to prepare for my Simple Website?

Once you sign up and pay a 50% deposit (which secures your booking), you'll be linked to a simple online briefing form where you can tell us all about your business. Filling this in is basically all you need to do before we can start the build. After that, all you need to do is be available.

The briefing form will ask you about the business, your points of difference, the colours you'd prefer to see, as well as the general "vibe" you're aspiring to. You're invited to reference other website you like to look of. If you have a website already, you can share what you do and don't like about it. If you have a logo or style guide, you'll be asked to supply that to us, and if you have any photos that you'd like us to include, you can send those through, too.

  • How many people can I bring along to Simple Website meetings?

There’s no hard limit, but one-to-three people (including yourself) is about right. Mostly, we see just one or two people, sometimes we have as many as six.

If it helps you at all, the more people there are, the longer the project will take, and possibly more complex it will be. This is because there are many different — and often conflicting — ideas and opinions, and this can really hold the project up (espeically if it's a One Day Website).

If you are bringing someone, it’s a good idea to make it clear who is responsible for making the final calls. For example, if you and your team really can't agree on something, nominate one person who has the final word. Getting stuck in decision-limbo makes is difficult for us to move forward as we get mixed or inconsistent feedback, so this will help us (and you!) out.

And remember, you can continue discussing the website with your team after the project, and edit it yourself with whatever you guys come up with.

  • How do I get to your office?

We're in the heart of Leederville at 661 Newcastle Steet. There is usually plently of paid parking on the streets and nearby parking lots. If public transport is easier, we're only a three minute walk from Leederville Train Station.

Once you're at the address, look for the building marked A, walk upstairs until you see the green wall with the word “Hello” on it. That's us!
